Based in suburban Brookfield, Mold-A-Rama maintains nearly 30 machines in and around the Chicago area. During the year, machines can be found at both local zoos–Brookfield and Lincoln Park–as well as the Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum and Willis Tower. During the holidays, some of those machines are swapped out to bring in festive molds for seekers to take home the iconic wax souvenirs.
Museum of Science and Industry
MSI swapped out two machines for holiday-themed molds on Nov. 12. Incoming are a Red Santa and Green Holiday Tree, both emblazoned with "Happy Holidays" and "Museum of Science and Industry" on the base. Out for the season are the tractor and baby chicks molds.
Brookfield Zoo
The zoo has swapped out its Halloween molds in time for Holiday Magic that begins Dec. 1. Brookfield Zoo houses four holiday molds: Pink Choir Girl Angel, Red Santa, Blue Reindeer and Silver Holiday Tree.
The choir girl can be found inside the seven seas underwater viewing with Santa in the same area near the far right wing. Both the reindeer and the tree are east of the reptiles and birds building.
Mold-A-Rama says there aren't plans to swap out any of the molds at The Field Museum, Lincoln Park or Willis Tower. Click here for a list of molds and where they are housed around the country.
