
Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo
One of our favorite parts of the holiday season is all the festive light displays you can see in Chicagoland! We've rounded up the best holiday lights to see in the Western Suburbs.
Aurora Festival of Lights
When: Through Dec. 26
Where: Phillips Park, 1000 Ray Moses Drive, Aurora
Cost: Free (Donations appreciated)
Featuring more than 420 displays, Aurora Festival of Lights is open everyday from 5-9 p.m. View the lights from the warmth of your car as your drive through Phillips Park.
Holiday Lights in Lilacia Park
When: Through Jan. 5
Where: 150 S. Park Ave., Lombard
Cost: Free
You'll be amazed by all of the pretty lights at Lilacia Park! You can walk through the park at your own pace as you spot illuminated sculptures. The lights are on everyday, but you should swing by during the weekends (through Dec. 22) when you can enjoy holiday activities and free visits from Santa. Check the website for a special events schedule.
Naper Lights
When: Through Dec. 27
Where: Downtown Naperville, 120 Water Street, Naperville
Cost: Free
For fans of Naper Lights, the holiday twinkles are at a new location this year: Downtown Naperville! You can find the lights on Water Street and along the Riverwalk. You'll still enjoy a winter wonderland of lights and music. Naperville's Santa House is also on the Riverwalk (click here for Santa's schedule).

Illumination - Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum

Where: 8400 31st Street, Brookfield
Cost: Free with admission
Running its lights festival for 38 years now, Brookfield Zoo presents more than a million twinkling lights. You can also skate along the ice-less rink and enjoy other holiday activities. See Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Seven Seas Underwater Viewing through Dec. 22 (Saturdays and Sundays).
Festival of Lights Light Show
When: Through Dec. 31
Where: Promenade Bolingbrook, 631 East Boughton Road, Bolingbrook
Cost: Free
Watch more than 250,000 lights twinkle to music at this nightly light show. From 5-9 p.m., you'll see the lights dance to more than 20 holiday songs. Take a photo in front of the 60-foot Christmas tree as well.
Illumination - Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum
When: Through Jan. 5 (select dates)
Where: 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle
Cost: $13-$23 adults, $7-$15 children
The trees light up at The Morton Arboretum for the annual holiday lights show. Walk through the path to see different color lights and movements as you enjoy nature in the winter. If you need to warm up, take a break by roasting marshmallows on a fire pit for s'mores.
Festival of Lights at Cosley Zoo
When: Through Dec. 30
Where: 1356 N. Gary Ave., Wheaton
Cost: Free
Cosley Zoo is offering free admissions during its Festival of Lights! Come at 3 p.m., when the lights turn on daily. This light show is perfect for your littles, who will still love the smaller scale of lights and can see zoo animals as well. Plus, they can easily explore in smaller crowds!
