Wheat vs. white

Everyone knows that whole grain bread is better for you than white bread. But kids usually don’t care what’s healthier—they want what tastes better. Last month, Sara Lee set out to prove that whole grain bread can taste good, too, with its Pickiest Eater Challenge.

Set up at Navy Pier, hundreds of kids tried the company’s new Soft& Smooth breads, including 100 percent Honey Wheat and Soft& Smooth Made with Whole Grain White Bread. Out of all the kid tasters (around 300 in total), 94 percent liked the Soft& Smooth breads. This definitely amazed their parents, since 43 percent of them were surprised their kids liked the whole grain bread. Maybe this really is a case of something tasting good and being good for you.
