New bandage stops bleeding fast

Short stuff: Health roundup

A new kind of bandage can help kids who suffer from chronic nosebleeds. BloodSTOP looks like a gauze bandage, but when applied to a bleeding wound or gently inserted in a bloody nose, it forms a gel that helps clot the blood in less than a minute. The bandage is water soluble, so it will dissolve when water is applied to it. BloodSTOP isn’t available at local stores yet; order through its Web site at www.lifescienceplus.com. A box of 10 various-sized bandages is about $15 per box.
