Parents want nothing but the best when it comes to their kids and their health. The new U.S. News & World Report of Best Children’s Hospitals might give parents that assurance. Four Illinois Children’s Hospitals make the “best” list this year, one of them appearing in the nation’s Top 10.
To rank hospitals for this list, U.S. News and World Report gathered key clinical data from 200 hospitals and for the children’s hospital category, focused on 10 pediatric specialties. Hospitals are then measured based on patient safety, infection prevention, adequacy of nursing staff and where pediatric specialists would send their sickest patients.
The 2021-22 edition of the Best Children’s Hospitals list places Boston Children’s Hospital in the number one spot nationwide for the eighth year in a row. In the Midwest, that honor goes to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
In the mix, though, is Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, which makes the Top 10 nationwide.
