Car Services That Cater to Chicago Families

Make your travel experiences to the airport enjoyable with these kid-friendly services.

When you’re traveling with kids, you’ve got enough to worry about without having to think through logistics of what lot to park in, where to catch a shuttle bus or how long it will take you to install and de-install a rear facing car seat in a cab.

Luckily, there are a growing number of accredited car services that cater to families by covering every one of these bases, and then some.

Chicago Scene Limousine

Chicago Scene is a car and limo service that provides free car seats for all families. Not sure what kind of seat your child needs? No worries. Just give them your child’s height, age, and approximate weight and they’ll take care of it. Luxury cars include limos, SUVs, Cadillacs, Mercedes, vans and other vehicles that will hold up to 14 passengers.

Echo Limousine

Echo Limousine offers professional limo and car service to and from O’Hare and Midway. Sip on complementary beverages or read magazines while the kids lounge in the latest and greatest car seats on the market (for an additional fee). Select a sedan, SUV or sprinter van that holds up to 14 passengers. Upon your return to Chicago, a greeter will meet your party at baggage claim and transport your luggage to the vehicle.

Escalady Car Service

Billed as a “Professional Car Service with a Mother’s Touch,” Escalady Car Service is run by Elisabeth Bittner, whose idea for the company came from transporting her own children around town. Escalady offers car seats and boosters at no additional cost, and seating for up to six passengers. Kids will especially love the portable DVD player and library of movies to choose from. After booking with Escalady, Bittner stays in constant communication with clients via text.

Going Green Limousine

Unlike other family car services, Going Green Limousine reduces your carbon footprint by using mainly hybrid and flex-fuel vehicles, which decrease greenhouse gasses by up to 80 percent. Guests are welcome to bring and install their own car seats or boosters, or rent one for a small upcharge. Going Green has a number of vehicles, with the largest one seating up to 14 passengers. The company also offers a loyalty rewards program where guests can earn discounts on future rides. What’s more, with advance notice, Going Green chauffeurs can provide emergency amenities for parents, like a nail file, sewing kit or dental floss.

Ride in Bliss

Ride In Bliss is a car service of choice for all families. The company, with a long history in Chicago, is known for providing age appropriate seating for children at no extra charge, even replacing every car seat after two years. Choose from a variety of vehicles, from a standard car all the way to a sprinter van, which holds up to 13 passengers. Download the Ride and Bliss app for easy booking and communication with your assigned driver.

Uncrabby Cabby

Uncrabby Cabby prides itself on providing the cleanest, safest, and most reliable airport transportation experience possible. Offering ride solutions for up to 10, the littlest passengers can rent a car seat for an additional fee. Uncrabby Cabby also stays true to their name, providing a truly “uncrabby” experience on holidays and early mornings, as they’re open 24/7, 365 days a year.
