FAMILY FUN CALENDAR

The Chicago Steel hockey team will host a Wiener Dog Derby during the intermission of its game against Dubuque. Dozens of dachshunds will race across the ice rink to help raise awareness for dog adoptions from a local rescue shelter and compete for prizes provided by Woofbeach. Fans registering their dogs are asked to make a donation to Rescue Warriors Corp., an Elgin-based nonprofit that saves abandoned animals from being euthanized.
