Description
In Japan, a Tanabata commemorates the romantic story of two people represented by the stars Vega and Altair who are only allowed to meet each other once a year as long as the skies are clear. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Tanabata Star Festival by making wishes to tie to the Wishing Tree, creating traditional decorations, and assembling kites. Visitors will also create art using origami, learn to use chopsticks, and try on a kimono. Plus, enjoy Japanese star stories and explore the night sky in the planetarium, then walk through the Shinto shrine and explore more in the temporary exhibition, Hello From Japan!
Event Cost: Free with museum admission
