Description
With the work of Chicago artist Nate Young on display in the Sitting Room, Driehaus Storytime presents This is the Rope by Jacqueline Woodson. Both Woodson’s protagonist and Young use objects that were part of their family histories for generations to remember the African American journey north during the Great Migration. Explore the Great Migration and learn how the author and artist preserve their histories through their works. The story time asks guests to consider the question: “What special object would you want to take with you on your journey?” Recommended for children ages 4-10. Registration recommended.
Event Cost: $15 for one adult and one child, $5 additional child.
Event Times: 9:30-10:30 a.m., Aug. 28, 2021
