Description
Rush Hour Concerts is an International Music Foundation summer program founded by Deborah Sobol, a concert pianist and civic leader, in the Summer of 2000. Rush Hour Concerts revamps the traditional classical music concert format by presenting short, high-quality chamber music performances in an intimate and informal setting, accessible to all. Each free half-hour concert is performed by world-class musicians from Chicago ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and numerous independent chamber music groups. In previous years Rush Hour Concerts have taken place as live performances at St. James Cathedral, however, due to COVID-19 and in an effort to prioritize the safety of Chicagoans and visitors alike, IMF has opted to stream this season’s Rush Hour Concerts online.
Event Cost: Free.
Event Times: 5:45 p.m. Tuesdays, July 7-Sept. 22
