Description
The Puerto Rican Festival of Chicago is an inclusive nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting the culture, art and values of the Puerto Rican community through a celebration of customs from the island to the diaspora while honoring ancestors, elders, traditions and the work of the community.
This year's theme is, "Home." The fest features live music and art, a health fair, education area, artisan market, community workshops and resources, sports clinics, films and more. The Chicago Knights is hosting free baseball clinics at Little Cubs Field 3-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Chicago Fire will have an area for children to play soccer and learn some technical skills between 1-9 p.m. all weekend. Bring your own blanket. Fundraiser for the festival takes place Sept. 23-24.
