Description
Enjoy a month long celebrating showcasing Chicago's buildings with virtual programs Oct. 1-31 and in-person experiences Oct. 16-17. New this year is a free family-oriented outdoor trail focused on The Great Chicago Fire to explore the lessons learned after the fire and relics from that era we can still see today intended for kids 8 and older and their families. Guided tours depart hourly beginning at 11 a.m. Other trails that families may want to explore include a walk through Hyde Park focused on President Obama and a trail at the Pullman National Monument, the first planned community in the nation and home to the first Black union recognized by the American Federation of Labor. Explore old railway cars, a clocktower, a wheelworks and more.
