Description
Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, BSC, Sweet Valley, Katniss & Bella are just a few of the many series book characters cherished by generations of readers. Learn their history and share your favorites. Most readers are unaware of these beloved series books' sordid past. For decades librarians and educators labelled series books "trash" and actively censored them. Due to these negative attitudes, the historical importance of series books has been greatly ignored. To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the "birth" of the series book, series book expert Lindsey Tomsu will chronicle a history of series books, explain why these ignored books are culturally important, and share fun facts and some familiar and not-so-familiar series books from her archive.
