Description
The fun-filled, interactive learning event introduces children and their families to the variety of ways that science plays a part in their everyday lives through hands-on activities, engineering challenges, interactions with professionals working in science-related fields, story times, robots, interactive performances and more. Activities will include the distribution of free books courtesy of Bernie's Book Bank, hands-on robotics, a dinosaur fossil dig, interaction with a geologist and microbiologist, as well as a hot air balloon launch by team members from the Museum of Science and Industry. Additional events include STEAM-Powered Story Times (in English and Spanish), a visit from a zookeeper and animal friend from Brookfield Zoo, and various table activities throughout the day. Plus, Smarty Pants presents The Mouse Trap Machine Show, combining science, math and art, to teach the audience about the five simple machines.
