Russian Splendor
Description
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra heads to The Morton Arboretum for an evening of Russian masterpieces led by rising star conductor James Feddeck. The delightful Circus Polka, written to accompany an elephant ballet, leads into Stravinsky's first ballet score, the dazzling and magical The Firebird. The concert ends with Rachmaninov's well-known Second Symphony which brims with emotion and gorgeous melodies.
