Description
The Wilmette Historical Museum and the Wilmette Police Department are jointly hosting a family-friendly Open House. Visitors are invited to step inside the Museum's historic 1896 building for self-guided tours, a family-friendly game of “Museum Bingo,” and a free cookie. Popular exhibits will be open, and the Wilmette Community Band will be playing (noon-1 p.m.), followed up by a pickle roll on the museum lawn to celebrate Wilmette's early pickle industry. Visitors to the Police Department will receive a tour of police facilities including the lock-up and firearms range. Free hot dogs will be served, and visitors should bring their own cameras for children's “mug shots.” Special guests will include the US Coast Guard, a canine unit, and more.
