Description
The Cupcake Classic consists of a Kids One-Mile run, and a 5K run (or walk for those that just want to stroll through this beautiful Downers Grove neighborhood) to raise money for the Noah’s Hope Batten Disease Research Fund. It is a timed event which starts near Blackstone Drive and 67th Street, and takes participants through the surrounding neighborhood of Downers Grove. Noah’s Hope was developed by the VanHoutan family of Downers Grove to raise money to find treatment and a cure for Batten Disease. Noah, the VanHoutan’s son, lost his fight against Batten Disease March 26, 2016, just a few weeks shy of his 12th birthday. Their daughter, Laine, continues her fight against this ruthless disease in which there currently is not a cure.
Event Cost: $30 5K Runners, $25 5K Walkers, $15 Kids One-Mile Run
