Ancient Manga: Stories by the Foot

Chicago-based artist Molly O’Connell will lead a workshop for artists ages 11-14 looking at the origins of Japanese Manga comic books found in Emakimono, illustrated hand scrolls produced since the 10th century. Workshop participants will use examples as well as more contemporary works as inspiration to create stories in ink on rolls of paper.
