Spring break activities near Schaumburg

Not sure what to do with the kids at home? Here are some great ideas to fill your family’s spring break.

  • Head to an indoor play center. Beat the chill with a visit to one of Schaumburg’s indoor play spaces. From trampoline parks to climbing gyms, kids can burn off energy while having a blast. Of course, the Legoland Discovery Center is located in Schaumburg and is a classic choice for sparking some fun indoors.
  • Explore the outdoors. Bundle up and embrace the winter weather with outdoor adventures like sledding, ice skating, or snowshoeing at local parks. The Schaumburg Park District makes it easy for families to find a park near them with wintertime activities.
  • Splash around indoors. For little ones (and parents) not too keen on spending time shivering in the cold, consider an indoor waterpark and pool day. The Schaumburg Community Recreation Center’s indoor water play zone called Water Works features three water slides, a rapid water channel, sprayground and more.
  • Soak up Chicagoland’s world class museums. Older kids may enjoy the new Frida Kahlo exhibit opening on March 29 at the Art Institute of Chicago. For younger children, consider a free trip to the Field Museum on Wednesday, March 26, as part of the museum’s Illinois Free Wednesdays program
