Niche has unveiled its list of top public high schools in Illinois for 2024, with seven schools making the national top 50.

Leading the pack, Payton College Preparatory High School ranks 4th in the state, followed by Northside College Preparatory High School, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, Aldaei E. Stevenson High School, Jones College Prep High School and Lane Tech College Prep High School.

The results stem from multiple ranking factors including teacher quality, state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity and more. Read more on how this ranking was calculated.
