Seasonal Description - Winter:

Featuring Jane, the world's most complete and best preserved juvenile T.rex and Homer, our teen-aged Triceratops. Burpee Museum showcases a Fossil Prep Viewing Lab where patrons can see fossils being prepared for study and exhibit. Geoscience, the Green River Formation, and Native Americans of Northern Illinois are just a few of the other exhibits you'll find at Burpee.

Seasonal Description - Spring:

A gem in the Rockford community since 1942, Burpee Museum of Natural History is equipped with 4 floors of engaging exhibits, suitable for the whole family! Our many unique exhibits have been known to intrigue both the young and old onlookers. Come explore Burpee Museum and its award-winning exhibits such as Jane: Diary of a Dinosaur, the world’s most complete and best preserved juvenile T. rex. Great detail and care goes into all of our exhibits, and there’s plenty to see for everyone.

Seasonal Description - Summer:

Established in 1941, the Burpee Museum of Natural History is the home of "Jane," the world's best preserved and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex, and "Homer", a teen-aged Triceratops, and is one of the preeminent mid-sized natural history museums in the nation. Its mission is to inspire all people to engage in a lifetime of discovery and learning about our natural world, through preservation and interpretation. Burpee Museum also offers a number of different summer camps from June through July for ages 4-12.

Days/Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays and holidays

Admission: $10, $9 kids 3-12, free kids 2 and under.
