The best family Easter ideas on Pinterest

In case you missed our copycat trial for Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, here’s the link for you again. This time, I’m gathering up some popular Easter pins to prepare for the upcoming holiday. I have chosen pins that are fairly easy to execute (and with kids no less!)

“Frame” those eggs! A simple sharpie can create frames for your child to draw their own personalized artwork on each egg. I love this idea because it gives kids a chance to be creative and artistically draw on those little white curved canvases. We are decorating our eggs on Friday and I think my older son will love this! This compilationof egg decorating covers everything from Superheroes to authors (think Eric Carle & tissue paper) to dripping colors. I love taking a dozen eggs and mixing and matching to create something beautiful. One of the biggest trends for egg decorating this year has to be Chalkboard Eggs – covering these delicate beauties in chalkboard paint and going to town with personalized messages and pictures. Tweens & teens would love something like this and it’s a nice upgrade from the usual crayon drawings.

Easter Brunch

Hosting Easter brunch or heading somewhere? Why not prepare some lovely recipes to share? This pin captures thirty quick and easy breads for Easter morning. Also, if you haven’t made Breakfast Mac ‘n Cheese yet, you are definitely missing out. Easter brunch is also the perfect time to try new Spring Quiches and will wow your guests with something so simple. I also think these baked eggs in avocados would make a great addition to your table, not only for taste, but for presentation. A personal favorite (and yummy) would also have to be the Resurrection Rolls used to symbolize Jesus’ resurrection – made simply with butter, pre-made croissants, some sugar and marshmallows make these a great object lesson.

Getting Crafty

Looking to keep those little hands busy while you fill eggs or finish holiday dinner preparations? I have a few ideas that are fun for your littles (and easy for you!) Recycled Egg Carton Art is great for using up the extras in your craft closet – leftover paint, little doodads and buttons, glitter, you name it and let them create it! These would also look great as a centerpiece. Paper Plate Bunny – you can get them out of your hair by letting them draw a hare! Finally, I think the retelling of the Easter story through a carton of eggs is just as clever and gets your kids involved in the story. You can make your own carton pretty simply!
