Alena Murguia has literally grown up at Chicago Parent and its parent company, Wednesday Journal, Inc. Starting as a teenager, she has worked in almost every department on both the newspaper and magazine sides, from Reception to Sales to Editorial. As the active mother of three boys, she is proud to continue her involvement with the magazine by working both as a contributing writer and as the "Maker of the Plan" for every issue. (That beautiful ad placement? All Alena). Her mission as a mom and as a writer is to seek out every treasure the Chicagoland area has to offer. With the help of her husband and sons, she is determined to explore them all.
