Dawn has lived downtown since graduating college, and has been in the advertising industry for over two decades. She started out in radio advertising sales, and then ran her own boutique ad agency before coming to Chicago Parent Magazine to run the downtown territory, 13 years ago. Her territory encompasses North Avenue on the north side, and then south through the city to Hyde Park.

Dawn is an urban gal who raised her daughter in the city, she knows first hand what its like to raise a child downtown. She says it is a wonderful experience to raise a child around so many great resources like the museums, despite the challenge of maneuvering thru the education process. Her daughter attended a mixture of private and magnet schools before heading off to college. Dawn says her daughter could hail a cab with conviction by age 3, developed her love of art downtown, and has enjoyed growing up in one of the best cities in the country.
