Original production of Hans Christian Andersen's The
Nightingale. Andersen's fairy tale tells the story of an emperor
who prefers the tinkling of a bejeweled mechanical bird to the song
of a real nightingale. When the emperor is near death, the
nightingale's song restores his health. Performances are March 15
at 7 p.m. and March 16 at 2 p.m. at the Reva and David Logan Center
for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St. in Chicago.
