LEGO® Machines & Robots
Have some fun this Summer break. Experience variety of LEGO® projects, play time, science, games and movies. We will be incorporating projects and challenges from our regular class curriculum as well as new ideas. Some of the activities will include LEGO® WeDo Robotics, Simple and Motorized Machines, Snap Circuits and more. Projects will vary daily. Based on attendees ages in mixed sessions children will be divided into age appropriate groups. Junior Age 6-8 and Advanced Ages 9-14
Stop Motion Animation with LEGO®
Children will use innovative software to combine the power of PC and stop- motion animation to bring LEGO® figures and objects to life. Creating stop-motion animation not only encourages the development of story-telling, it also provides an opportunity for kids to use the PC as a movie production tool. Each child will create a film based on their own vision and imagination. Throughout the week they will work on their draft and the official film will be recorded on a DVD for them to keep and enjoy. Ages 6-14
Young Scientists
Campers build simple machines such as seesaw, rolling vehicle, spinning top and many more. In these models they experience pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles. They will also conduct testing and evaluating of their machines. Key learning targets: measuring, timing, counting, estimating, modeling in two and three dimensions, positions, directions and ways of movement, properties of materials and energy. Ages 4-7
LEGO® Mindstorms® Robotics for Beginners
Welcome to the world of robotics. In this class students can build robots and use software to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions from a variety of real life robotic behaviors. They will learn to use data from specialized sensors such as rotation, sound, light, ultrasonic, and touch. Use data involving distance, time, turning angle, degrees of rotation, sound volume, reflected and ambient light and gear ratios. Ages 9-14
Kids play, build and learn with Lego. Center offers summer camps, building and robotics classes, birthday parties, drop in for play, field trips and in school programs.
