Hours: The Interpretive Center and grounds are open to the public year-round, 8 am-4:30 pm Mon.-Fri., 9 am-5 pm Sat.-Sun. Historic tours are Saturdays and Sundays, beginning in February, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m..

Step into the past at this outdoor history and nature museum. Peek into a tank full of turtles, touch a fossil, learn about pioneer and Native American life. The 135-acre grounds have wetland, woodland and prairie areas. Tour the restored 1856 Kennicott House built by Dr. John Kennicott, the log cabin, longhouse and schoolhouse with costumed guides. Exhibit based on his life opens in April.
