Visit the First Division military museum, which takes visitors on an interactive tours of the nation's wars. Life-size soldiers demonstrate what life was like during each particular war, and kids can experience the sounds of bombs exploding as they travel through bunkers or jungles, or step out onto Normandy Beach from a life-like landing craft. The highlight of the visit for most kids is climbing and pretending on the many real tanks and other military equipment parked outside the museum. Cantigny Park has many events for families including art shows and military re-enactments. There's a restaurant, coffee shop, gift shop and picnic area with playground.
Visit the First Division Museum, where visitors can experience our nation's rich military history from World War I through Desert Storm through interactive exhibits, first person accounts and rare artifacts. One highlight is watching a film about D-Day from a simulated World War II landing craft and then stepping out onto the beach at Normandy, complete with sound effects. Kids enjoy climbing on the tank and artillery collection displayed outside the museum. Cantigny Park has many events for families including the Art in Bloom festival, free concerts and military re-enactments. The park offers a restaurant (lunch only), coffee shop, gift shop and picnic area with playground.
