Seventeen hands-on interactive exhibits for children ages birth to 8, including SpotHero Car Garage, Pet Vet, Whole Foods Market and Ravinia Music Makers, as well as a 2-acre outdoor exhibit, Habitat Park, with a sculpture trail, climbing structures and grass maze. Bring a chance of clothes--kids may get wet at the Water Works exhibit, even with a smock on. Three infant areas provide a safe place for babies to explore. Cosi Cafe in the museum offers an easy lunch option, with kid-friendly food items. Through September 4, get a hands-on lesson in engineering by peering inside your favorite toys (like Etch-a-Sketch, Operation, and Hokey Pokey Elmo) to see how gears, cams, and circuits make your playthings work in the new Toys: The Inside Story exhibit.
