Chicago Detours offers multimedia tour experiences that share the history and culture of Chicago. You'll hear unique stories that aren't available in any tour guidebook, illustrated by photos, maps and documentary film footage that guests view on iPads. Through March 31, families are invited to take Chicago Detour's "The Loop: Explore Without Freezing" walking tour. Come hear the inside scoop about Chicago's more infamous (Block 37), unexpected (a church in a skyscraper) and stunning (Chicago Cultural Center) architectural and cultural landmarks. Using secret shortcuts and underground passages, you'll spend less than five minutes outdoors during this two-hour tour. Tours depart daily, Wednesday through Saturday, beginning at 10am. Tickets are $20 for adults, free for children under 12.
Explore stories and places locals don't even know with
Chicago Detours' guided tours of history, culture and
architecture. Guides provide expert commentary while you get to
share iPads with historic photos, maps and documentary film
footage. Families are invited to take Chicago Detour's "Inside the
Loop Interior Architectural Walking Tour." Popular with Chicago
locals and visitors wanting an in-depth look at architecture, this
walking tour explores architectural interiors and the underground
Pedway system. You'll visit a department store, a skyscraper
church, the infamous Block 37, and the Chicago Cultural Center.
Part architectural tour, part history tour, and part Pedway tour,
you'll beat the heat making this a great summer activity in
Chicago.
