A neighborhood rich in African-American history on the South Side, Bronzeville is home to the DuSable Museum of African-American History (740 E. 56th Place). Kids can burn off some energy at Washington Park, adjacent to the museum. Enjoy comfort food at Chicken & Waffles (3947 S. Martin Luther King Drive). The Monument to the Great Migration statue can be found along Martin Luther King Drive. Bronzeville Community Market (4400 Cottage Grove) is open every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the summer. The market offers youth and family programs, including arts-and-craft and health-and-wellness demonstrations.
