Members of the Jesse White Tumblers will perform outside on the Discovery Center plaza (noon to 12:30 p.m.), followed by a precision drill by cadets from Hubbard High School Army JROTC. At 12:45, cadets from the District 131 Aurora East Navy JROTC present an armed drill demonstration for guests. The 1 p.m. ceremony begins with a presentation and placing of the wreath followed by singing of the National Anthem. Veterans of the 82nd Airborne Division, who participated in the liberation of the concentration camps during World War II, and members of the Tuskegee Airmen will be recognized. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to meet some of Brookfield Zoo’s animal ambassadors, including a red-tailed hawk and tamandua (small anteater).
