You might feel the ground shake as you walk the half-mile boardwalk over Volo Bog, the only "quaking" bog in Illinois with an open water center. Tamarack trees and carnivorous pitcher plants have taken root among the moss, orchids and vegetation of the bog. The nature center has a kids' corner.
