Hours: March 1-last Saturday in October: Trails 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. Building 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Last Sunday in October-Feb. 28: Trails 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. daily. Building 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Building closed on Friday.
The visitor center houses live native animals, interactive exhibits depicting native flora and fauna, bird-watching area, active beehive and "Nature Play Zone" filled with games, puzzles, puppet stage and magnetic fish pond. Two walking trails wind through the sugar maple woodland along the Des Plaines River.
