Housed in the Visitor Center at the James "Pate" Philip State Park, the Nature Center offers opportunities to see a variety of displays, to participate in hands-on experiences through classes and to hike miles of trails surrounding the building. On-site and off-site programs are available during regular business hours, evenings and weekends for schools, scouting groups, daycares, birthday parties, private parties, businesses and churches. There are also rental opportunities including the large shelter, program rooms and auditorium.
