Hours: Mayslake Forest Preserve open one hour after sunrise to one hour after sunset daily. Guided restoration-in-progress tours 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Other estate hours vary by event
This former mansion, now on the National Register of Historic Places, serves as a unique educational and cultural resource for the community. Programs include lectures and workshops as well as art shows, jazz salons, performances by First Folio Theatre and more. The surrounding Mayslake Forest Preserve offers walking trails and fishing in two lakes.
