Hickory Creek Junction provides parking and access to the Old Plank Road Trail, a 21-mile asphalt trail that runs from Park Forest in Cook County to Joliet in Will County, via a pedestrian bridge over Route 30. The mostly flat trail runs through several forest and nature preserves. Hickory Creek Junction also provides access to the 2.8 mile Hickory Creek Bikeway-West Branch, a scenic asphalt trail that runs through meadows and woodlands.
