What's Blooming on Harrison Street Art Festival

This year's What's Blooming includes an exhibition of Highland Park's hand-painted butterflies. These butterflies are more than three feet wide and will be on display in the parkway. Friday special events are planned at the galleries. On Saturday, a portion of Harrison street will be closed off, allowing the more than 30 artist and vendors to set up their booths in a localized space. There will be free live entertainment all day long, with special activities scheduled throughout the day. Friday, May 25 from 6-10 p.m. Galleries are open late. Saturday, May 26 10 a.m.-8 p.m. is an art show featuring over 30 artists. Entertainers/musicians will be performing all day. Food vendors from Oak Park and Forest Park. Bee World-a beekeeper demonstrates the bee world. The Wizard of Oz will be mingling with the crowd. The Oak Park Arts District is located on Harrison Street between Ridgeland and Austin Avenue.
