Widely heralded as "the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest," the Printer's Row LitFest is surprisingly as kind to kids as it is to bookworms. It would seem a natural fit, as we all would like our kids to learn to read, right? At the LitFest, which is located on Printer's Row on the city's South Side (Dearborn and Congress, to be exact), children are known to just sit on the curb or grass and read. Plus, Chicago's own famous "Storybook Mom," Nili Yelin hosts the kids' stage.
Celebrate the written word with over 125,000 attendees during a two-day outdoor festival. Festival brings together lovers of literature, national best-selling authors, booksellers and exhibitors. Plus, at the Lil' Lit Park, kids and parents can enjoy storytelling, costumed characters, performances, sing-alongs, and special activities.
