The festival of St. Lucia is a celebration of lights prevailing over the darkest time of the year. Celebrate first at Daley Plaza with Lucia candidates representing Swedish-American organizations throughout the Chicago area starting at 11:30 a.m. The festivities around this old Swedish holiday continue later on in Andersonville with a Lucia procession leaving from the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark, at 4:45 p.m. and returning for a program at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., the celebration continues at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1650 W. Foster Ave., Chicago, with holiday songs, readings and a final Lucia procession.
