Went on the Bremen Holy Walk for the first time last year. It was superb! Yes, it's on farmer's fields, but the whole walk was pretty smooth. You travel in a group at a comfortable pace. One child of five was a bit frightened by the Roman soldiers and her brother held tight to his "ticket" for the taxes, but it was a very wonderful experience. Dress for the weather. It's sheltered pretty well from the wind, but it was cold and snowing the night we went, but that just added to the atmosphere!
