This neighborhood restaurant, which opened at the end of the summer 2011 in downtown Skokie featuries Latin American-inspired small plates. Every Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Libertad will offer Kid Quesadilla Night. Kids 10 and under can make a quesadilla at their table, starting with a flour tortilla, cheese, chicken, mushroom, tomatoes and other vegetables. The restaurant offers a kid-friendly dish nightly that's complimentary. The grownups, however, will be asked to donate the amount of their choice to the restaurant's designated charity. The beneficiary will change regularly, says partner and general manager Marcos Rivera.
