Find an affordable, family vacation destination in Waukesha & Pewaukee, located in the southeast corner of Wisconsin.  A family fun getaway is only a short drive away!

Celebrate the fall harvest and help the farmers bring in and preserve this season's crops at Old World Wisconsin during Autumn on the Farms, October 2nd-3rd & 9th & 10th.  Enjoy two full weekends of changing activities as the farms ready their homes for the coming winter at this popular event.  Join in and experience how 19th-century farmers dried and canned fruits and vegetables from their gardens.  Also learn how they smoked and preserved meat.  Old World Wisconsin consists of a 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads on 576 acres of wooded hills within the Kettle Moraine State Forest.

After a trip back from 19th century farmsteads at Old World Wisconsin, take the family on a daytrip to a present day working farm at either Basse's Country Delight, Cozy nook Farm or Homestead Animal Farm.

Seasonally starting the first weekend in October Basse's Country Delight hosts Pumpkin Fest, a Halloween celebration that includes hayrides through the Haunted Woods to the pumpkin field, picking your own pumpkin, an intriguing corn maze, children's activities and petting zoo!  Also available are seasonal farm treats of caramel apples, apples cider, bushels of apples, canned fruits & preserves, specialty sauces and autumn decorations.

Experience Fall Fun on the Farm at Cozy Nook Farms with tours of their working dairy farm, hayrides showcasing corn, soybean and alfalfa fields plus the pumpkin patch that produces more than 40 different varieties!  Pumpkins grow in all shades of orange plus white, green, tan and bright red varieties.  Bring your family to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the autumn season on the farm.

Homestead Animal Farm offers a time once remembered and an experience you'll never forget through an amazing assortment of animals, themed corn mazes, I Spy hayrides and even a grass-roofed barn for the donkeys and goats to graze!  Animals found in the barnyard, chicken coop and on the roof include miniature donkeys, alpacas, pygmy goats, dairy goats, sheep, turkeys, peacocks, pheasants, potbellied pigs, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens, cats and a dog.  Add to your adventure with the I Spy hayride that consists of special objects displayed along the trail matched to a list of items posted on the hay wagon.
