The Park, Recreation and Community Services Division offers fencing classes throughout the year. Weapons, jackets and masks will be provided and shared among classmates. Personal items, such as underarm protectors and gloves, must be provided by the participant, but are offered by the instructor at a reduced rate. Times, fees, age ranges and experience levels vary; call the Chandler-Newberger Center, 1028 Central St., Evanston, for information or to register at (847) 448-8252.
From May-September, Free Access to Fishing program is offered at Lovelace Park for kids 5-15 with parent. Kids will learn about the catch and release process. Drop in on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon.
