By Dawn R on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 Dr. Silvestri is the Clincial Director of the NICU at Rush University Medical Center. She is the BEST with her parents and babies. Her warm and approachable manner helps NICU parents, who are so stressed, to not only understand their baby's condition, but bond with their babies who are sick and separated from them. She involves the parents in decision making and allows them to be the parent to their infant. She makes holidays fun on the unit by dressing up for Halloween and other holidays. She leads our Premie Reunion Party every year where she has over 800 families return to celebrate their babies. She is always apporachable to new ideas from both parents and staff. Her kindness, caring and dedication make her a Kids Favorite Doc!!! We love her!! |

Dr. Silvestri is an excellent listener. I am amazed by her how she is calm while she listens to family members and all members of the health care team. She can truly listen to what everyone has to say, provide even better care because she understand all aspects of the patient. I also believe that the Dr. Silvestri has the qualities of empathy and compassion. Patients, family members, and all the members of the health care team can feel more bonded and trusting to this physician. In addition, Dr. Silvestri is understanding, competent, and conducts herself after thinking about things ethically.
