Dr. Mitchell is a general pediatrician with a specialist's skill in diagnosing and treating pediatric asthma. On the one hand he diagnosed by 9-year-old as having asthma, then he diagnosed my 8-month-old daughter with asthma (who are now 24 and 9-years-old, respectively), and as I perused the Allergy & Asthma Today magazine for mother's of children with asthma, there he was on Capitol Hill advocating for children with asthma. In addition to his being a role model for African-American youth, his compassionate ability to relate to all social and economic levels of his patients and their parents is unparalleled. He is an advocate for children in foster care and he is always available to his patients and their parents, even after hours and on weekends.
