By Jeanie D on Monday, November 29, 2010 My son had been in the hospital for a kidney infection. One morning he awoke complaining of severe hip pain. The doctors and nurses didn't take it seriously because it seemed unrelated to his kidney. I insisted on an orthopedic consult. Dr. Moran came in and spoke directly to my son and examined him with compassion and respect. He discovered that my boy had a septic (infected) hip socket which required emergency surgery and a month of medicine delivered through a pic line. My son could have died if it weren't for Dr. Moran's skill and ability to work with and get the other staff to work together. Thank you so much! |

By Julie H on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran is not only very knowledgeable in his field of expertise, but when our daughter needed care, he took extra time to help calm her fears and help us understand the treatment that was needed. |

By Mary Ellen R on Monday, November 29, 2010 He is a excellent doctor. He's patient, understanding. He helped my daughter when she broke her elbow 3 times and also myself when I sprained my ligement in my thumb and sprained my wrist. He is one of the very best doctors I have ever seen. |

By Evalyn V on Monday, November 29, 2010 My second son was born in October of 2008 with a deformity to both of his thumbs (they were bent outward) and an extra toe. This doesn't sound like a big deal however during his first check up the word syndrome was mentioned. I am a Registered nurse and when I pressed the MD for further clarification he said I have to look into it and changed the subject. Well that is not the answer I wanted so he gave me the name of a Pediatric Ortho Surgeon to see. I spent the week before the appt. pouring over the internet for anything with the thumb and toe issues my son had to no avail. Needless to say I was a ball of nerves and I kept hovering over my son looking for signs of more problems. I saw Dr. Mark Moran for the first time when my son was 12 days old and from the time I enter the waiting room I knew we had come to the right place. Dr. Moran examined my sons thumbs and foot and after listening to all of my concerns and fears proceeded in the most calming and reassuring way to tell us our son would be alright and the word syndrome was just a term and the Dr. who used probably realized his mistake as soon as he said it and that's why he backed off further discussing the matter. Dr. Moran is a physician who really cares about his patients and really takes the time to listen to what they are saying. We have been to his offices many times since our first visit and have never been rushed thru or brushed off over a minor concern. He knows how important it is to parents that their childrens medical issues are taking seriously and responded to as such. I could have been spared an agonizing week of suffering had the original MD just took the time to answer my concerns instead of brushing me off. I am a nurse but when it comes to my kids I'm a mom first. Dr. Moran made it possible for me to enjoy the wonderful little bundle of joy I was blessed with and for that I will be forever grantful. We are going for our last surgery later this year but I will forever remember Dr. Moran and all he has done for my family. |

By Marianna Y on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran is a great physician. Every time we go to his office we get very professional service and yet he still does a great job of putting his patients at ease. I would recommend Dr. Moran to any parent needing a pediatric orthopedic physician. |

By Benito R on Monday, November 29, 2010 His approach at making the patient relax and assured that they are getting the best care. His staff is also the best. |
|
By Sandy G on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran (pediatric orthopedics) is an individual with a warm and friendly personality. He always enters the room with a smile and greets the children as if they were his own. He also can tell some good and corny jokes. His bedside manner is professional, but on a level you can understand. Children and patients love him. |

By Jean M on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran is a wonderful doctor! He has been a part of my family for the past 15 years. I've taken all 3 of my kids to see him throughout their childhood. I've also recommended him to many friends and extended family as well. Dr. Moran and his staff are so kind and caring. They listen to all my problems, and geniuinely care about my opinions. From an ACL tear to a broken hand to dislocated hips, he's done it all for our family! |

By Jackie R on Monday, November 29, 2010 He speaks to kids at their level and makes everything seem much easier than it actually might be at that time. He makes everyone feel very comfortable and at ease. |
|
By Gail M on Monday, November 29, 2010 He has a way of making the kids comfortable and relaxed in a non-intimadaing way...when my son broke his arm and needed immediate surgery and was so scared, Dr. Moran sat and talked with him (man to man) and made my son calm and in control. Amazing. Gifted. Genuine. |

By Tammy B on Monday, November 29, 2010 Relates well with the kids by listening to their concerns, as well as the parents. Involves the children in their plan of care. Knowledgeable, congenial, smart. explores less- invasive options first. calls back promptly w/concerns, questions, issues, even at odd hours! I personally enjoy his Canadian accent, eh! |

By Jennifer M on Monday, November 29, 2010 When my son had broken his arm at 5 yrs old, Dr. Moran asked me to take him in for an x-ray at the local clinic and bring home a copy, since he had already left the office. When I got home he was right behind me coming in the door. He calmed my son down and rewrapped his cast. He also did his surgery and was so good with him. He is the nicest man and he talks to the kids with such a kind voice that they are not scared and listen to what he has to say. |
|
By Beth P on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran is great with children. He always takes time to explain everything to the kids first and then to the parents. He truely cares about the kids and making them comfortable. |
|
By Kathy C on Monday, November 29, 2010 He is very friendly and proficient doctor. He made my 3 boys laugh and want to attend the follow-up visit even after telling my one he has to be in a back brace for 10 weeks |
|
By Carol C on Monday, November 29, 2010 He gets down onto the child's level when speaking to them. He greets the child and makes them feel comfortable. He includes the child in their treatment and speaks to them about what he expects and what they should expect from their injury and treatment. |

By Steve K on Monday, November 29, 2010 My story is going to be somewhat different than most. I knew Dr. Moran as the new, nice neighbor across the street who had lots of kids for me to play with and I did!! He was and still is very friendly and unassuming person. I met Dr. Moran as the ortho after breaking my hand, elbow, and hurting my knees. Each time I had to go to his office, I would get a little nervous, but then he walks in and I am not nervous anymore. He talks to me and explains everything that he is going to do and tells me what I should expect. Out of all the doctors and dentists I have had, Dr. Moran is the most kid-friendly doctor and he is really good at what he does! My vote will always be for Doc Moran!! |

By Karen K on Monday, November 29, 2010 Dr. Moran is a caring physician. He explains and answers questions, and demonstrates compassion when dealing with his patients. |
|
By Susan V on Monday, November 29, 2010 I wish Dr. Moran was in practice when my son was little and broke his collarbone and wrist (not at the same time). The doctor we had was not a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and did not have the tenderness toward children that Dr. Moran has. |
