Ravenswood Community Child Care Center came about from a 1997 meeting of community leaders who sought a way to partner together to provide needed services to families in the Ravenswood/Lincoln Square area. Key players in the creation of Ravenswood Community Daycare, Inc., the not-for-profit owner/operator of the center, included the principal of Amundsen High School, the director of the Advocate School-based Health clinic housed within that Chicago Public High School, and the pastor of a local protestant congregation.
