These camps will focus on learning to play chamber music. They are conducted by Hilel Kagan, critically acclaimed Chicagoland conductor, and Helia Schramm, well known violin teacher. Camps are arranged by age and student ability. They are open to violinists, violists, cellists and basses. To participate in the Training Camp, students must be able to read music and simple rhythms. Participants interested in the Intermediate Camp should have some knowledge of positions. Senior Camp participants should have intermediate and advanced knowledge of their instrument.

Created in 2006 by Hilel Kagan, Canzonetta is a Chicago area youth string chamber orchestra. The repertoire is baroque, classical and contemporary with high demands for technical perfection, tonal refinement and phrasing. The personal attention which all students receive in the small chamber orchestra is crucial for developing individual skills. A unique atmosphere of togetherness and bonding among ensemble members is enhanced through understanding their constantly fluctuating roles in the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structure of the music.

Canzonetta is open to all youth and attracts talented music students from the northern suburbs and Chicago. Camps are held at the Wilmette's Community Recreation Center, Wilmette, IL.
