Active Learning has been conducting Chess and Gamebuilder camps across the country since 1997. Our USA Chess tour is the largest chess camp series in the US. Professional Chess coaches make learning the game fun for beginners and a great learning experience for others who wish to improve their games. A typical day will include lessons, practice and play. Ages 5-16.
Our Gamebuilder Video Game Creation camps feature Gamemaker
software and our custom curriculum. Children 8-16 The Intro
Course is a custom Arcade Style Game like PacMan, Centipede,
or Asteroids where the character moves up, down and around the
screen and clearing a screen determines when a level is completed.
The Sequel is a Platform style game such as
Sonic, or Mario where the character walks jumps, and climbs and the
screen scrolls as he progresses. All of the games are
of child's design and they can take their games home with them at
the end of the camp. Ages 8-16.
Each child receives a trophy and a t-shirt at the end of the
camp.
